Manchester City defender David Sommeil has been awarded the First Advice Player of the Month Award for February 2003.after an impresive month at maine rd
The defender has completed his first complete month as a City player and the panel including Gary Owen and Dennis Tueart faced the difficult task of choosing a player after a month in which only three games were played, those being against Arsenal, West Brom and the rags.
Twenty eight year old Sommeil joined the Blues from Bordeaux and although his obvious lack of English hindered communication with some of his team mates in early games he seems to have become more comfortable with each game he has taken part in.
He told the official site "I am really pleased to receive the award. It is good to get this honour and I hope that I can now progress at the club. I want to learn more by playing in the Premiership and build up my experience."
