City look to get one hand on the championship

City travel to Molineux for a Bank Holiday showdown with second place Wolves. A win for City will almost certainly seal both promotion and the Championship in one foul swoop.

Kevin Keegan will take his team to Molineux looking for the 3 points, which should point to an unchanged side from the one that beat Forest 3-0. The only slight doubt is Richard Dunne, who limped off with a tweaked hamstring during the second half of the Forest game. If Dunne fails to make it expect Lucien Mettomo to start. City will need to be strong in midfield to cope with the hard working Rae and Cameron and for that reason Keegan may well move Sun Jihai to the centre of midfield and allow Shaun Wright-Phillips to move back to wing back, especially with Kennedy missing from the Wolves lineup. Bernabia will provide the creativity, which Wolves will try to stop by man marking him. This may be one game where the talents of Berkovic will be sadly missed. Up front Keegan is likely to continue with Goater and Huckerby, despite the claims of Jon Macken.

With West Brom also winning on Saturday, City cannot get promoted upon completion of this game but may well do so if they win and WBA lose at Coventry later in the day. Personally I would like to see both a City and a WBA win so that promotion can be sealed at Maine Road. It is Wolves that need the win more than City however. Jack Hayward seems to think City are fading (strange man) and Dave Jones thinks Wolves are the best team in the League (even stranger), well here is their chance to show it. I don't think Wolves are capable under pressure, as their recent results and near collapse at Burnley have shown, and I take this as yet another City win to lay to rest the Molineux bogey. 2-1 to the blues and 1 point away from the silverware.
