Burnley got back to winning ways with victory over Norwich on Friday night. Martyn Robinson brings you the match report this week, covering the Clarets' 2-0 win at Turf Moor.

Burnley 2-0 Norwich City

Burnley's dreadful run of form came to an end on Friday evening with a 2-0 win over Norwich. The Canaries still harbour hopes of a play-off berth, but their task looks ever greater after slipping up at Turf Moor.

Burnley, who had not scored for five games, had lost their last six games - but they bounced back to form live on SKYSPORTS. Goals in each half from Andy Gray and Graham Branch were enough for the home side to take the spoils.

Norwich dominated early on and Jon Harley was forced to clear a Leon McKenzie effort off the line just three minutes in. Darren Huckerby and Simon Charlton then combined for Jonathan Johansson moments later, but his effort came back off the crossbar.

McKenzie was then guilty of missing a great chance when he intercepted a poor Frank Sinclair header, but with only Brian Jensen to beat - he chipped straight into the Dane's hands.

Norwich were made to pay for their missed chances when Gray - making his home debut following his move from Sunderland earlier this month - grabbed his first goal for The Clarets as he controlled a Branch cross in the box before turning and shooting low past Robert Green.

Just six minutes into the second period and the game was put beyond Nigel Worthington's side. The goal was created by Man of the Match Phil Bardsley down the right, and he crossed deep to the back post, where Branch rose to head home.

The win sees Burnley move up one place to 17th, while Norwich remain in ninth - some seven points off the play-off positions.

Many thanks to Martyn for the match report.
