Ex-Burnley player Mark McGregor has signed for Blackpool on a one year deal. McGregor left the Clarets after his contract wasn't renewed.

Blackpool, who had a manager change like Burnley after the end of the season aquired McGregor on a free transfer after he was released. The new Gaffer at Bloomfield Road, Colin Hendry, told Blackpool's official website the following:

"We are very happy to have him on board, he has a wealth of experience at a higher level and has been a very steady player for us over the pre-season.

"He is a very good example to the younger players, he goes about his job in a quiet orderly fashion, a really good pro to have around and he is a great addition to the side."

The 27 year old defender scored 3 goals from 54 starts with the Clarets and 280 starts previous to that with Wrexham. Mark has been training with the Seasiders with his release and it wasn't up until today that he secured a 1 year contract with the club.

The Longside would like to wish Mark all the best over the next year at Blackpool where we are confident he will prove himself as one of the best defenders in League One.
