One of the worst kept mystery's in football was concluded today after the club officially announced Danny Coyne's arrival. Coyne will take the number one shirt and looks likely to be the first choice ahead of Brian Jensen.

Such a signing is surely a boost for those clarets who felt Jensen's performances were a little too erratic for comfort.

Coyne has signed a three year deal with the Clarets and is 30 years old. He is also a Welsh international.

Welcome to Turf Moor!

Editorial:

"The signing of Danny Coyne on a three year deal must go down as Steve Cotterill's best signing so far. For too long the clarets have had only one senior goalkeeper on the books and the position has been a worry. While Brian Jensen got too much undue criticism, he was clearly erratic and worried defenders and supporters alike. With the arrival of Coyne the club now have two goalkeepers and in Jensen are likely to have a very decent reserve. Steve Cotterill is slowly rebuilding the clarets defence and this must be commended."
