Reports north of the border are suggesting this morning that former Burnley manager Stan Ternent is one of the front runners for the Dunfermline Athletic job in the Scottish Premier League. Ternent whose contract was not renewed last month is looking for a quick return to football.

With former Assistant Sam Ellis getting a job at Leeds, it now looks as though Stan may soon be back in management.

According to reports he is one of two front runners for the Dunfermline job, a long with former Livingstone manager Davie Hay. Ternent confirmed he had spoken to the Chairman at the pars at least twice and was hoping that after Monday's board meeting negotiations may go further.

He expressed his aspriation to manage in Scotland and this job would be a good opportunity for the former clarets star, especially with Dunfermline being in the UEFA cup next year, something that can help any manager's CV.

However with a lack of experience in the Scottish league, it remains to be seen whether the UEFA Grade A coach will be taken on by the Pars, a team, who like Burnley, have suffered recent financial problems.
