The full line up of teams playing in the 1st Division is now complete. The play-off finals saw two upsets for the teams in and around our division. Crystal Palace caused the first upset on Saturday when they defeated West Ham. Palace were the better side and the only goal of the game came midway through the second half and it was their captain Neil Shipperley who scored the goal.

The other shock came on Sunday when highly fancied Bristol City were beaten by Brighton in a dreadful game of football. Leon Knight scored a late penalty to give the Seagulls an automatic return to the 1st Division after being relegated 12 months earlier.

The bookies have wasted no time in offering odds on who they think will win the league with West Ham once again favourites to win promotion. Burnley will struggle, according to the men int he know, and are expected to finish just one place above the relegation zone.
