Peter Reid and Adrian Heath have today been ruled out of the soon to be vacant manager's job at the Turf. Both had been linked with the job and Reid was critical of Kilby's decision to release Stan but didn't rule himself out of the job though. It has been announced today that Reid will be the new manager of Coventry. Reid has signed a 2 year contract at Highfield Road and the chairman is expecting him to achievement good results with no money to spend.

Reid has appointed Adrian Heath as his number 2. Inchy was the manager at Turf Moor, prior to Chris Waddle, for one season and had been linked with a move back to the Turf this Summer.

Chris Brass is another former Claret who has been linked with the job but he has also ruled himself out. Brass had this to say to the media men in York......

"I think everybody knows my feelings towards Burnley but York City is now etched into my heart. I have still got a job to do here and would never walk out on this club until whatever circumstances take me away. It's flattering to have my name banded about but I'm still on a big learning curve and, whatever I have learned, I will be using to York City's advantage. I also think it would be far too soon."

"I have a lot of admiration for Stan Ternent and feel sorry for him. I know what he's done at that football club and I would like to turn things around at York City in the same fashion as he has done at Burnley."

There is no doubt that more names will be linked to the job over the coming days but at least we can now start to rule out certain managers.
