The Clarets must spend the International break chewing on a third straight Championship defeat after two goals from Craig Mackail-Smith and a late Gordon Greer header ended their unbeaten home start.
Mackail-Smith had reportedly been a deadline day transfer target for Norwich City and Burnley must have wished the Canaries had got their man after the Scotland International killed them off with two strikes that would have graced the Premier League. The Albion frontman volleyed his side ahead early on and then after Burnley had got level through a Greer own goal with half an hour to go he popped up again with a spectacular overhead kick to set up the points which were sealed by Greer's late header.
