Burnley chalked up a notable scalp as they ended their pre-season campaign with a well deserved victory over Sunderland.
Jay Rodriguez scored the only goal from the penalty spot at sun-drenched Turf Moor against Premiership opponents. And with the Clarets fielding an ever-youthful side in a largely uneventful second half, there was plenty to be cheerful about, Eddie Howe's charges ended thier warm-up for the big kick off on a high. Burnley named both of their defensive loan signings, Ben Mee and Kieran Trippier in the starting 11, alongside Andre Amougou (formerly Bikey!) and Danny Fox.
