The final game of this exhausting Easter period was at Filbert Street where Burnley were taking on Leicester City for the 2nd time in 4 days.

Unfortunately in this one, Burnley seemed to be overcome by nerves and certainly in the first half couldn't do anything right. Leicester actually went in at half time 2-0 up with goals from Wills and Cheeseborough. After what must have been a good half time team talk Burnley started in the second half with a lot more confidence. It was Meredith scoring his first goal of the season to put Burnley back in with a shout. Banks showed some of his greatness with a couple of fine saves helping to keep the scoreline at the final whistle of 2-1.

Oooops two points lost, could the Clarets still able to win the League, only 4 games left now, 3 away and 1 at home. The answer would be known very soon.

Programme Review

Team changes to those printed in the programme were, Leicester in Norman, White, Riley and Keyworth & out Chalmers, McLintock, McDonald and Leek.

Burnley out Seith and Connelly, In Cummings and Meredith.

Leicester's programme was a 12 pager costing 4d. Content was not of great interest, just the usual managers notes, a player profile and pen pictures of the visiting side.

Next game: Blackpool v Burnley - Saturday 23rd April 1960.
