Today it was announced that Eddie Thompson who has been at Jim McLeans neck for quite sometimes trying to buy his shares may have won the batttle. Today it was announced that Eddie Thompson who has been at Jim McLeans neck for

The owner of a chain of superstores ( Morning Noon And Night ) Eddie Thompson
after 40 years may finaly relise his dream of sitting at the helm of Dundee United ,
although i looks like Thompson will take over , the current chairman Scott Cairnegie
and the interm board are also interested in the 42% of shares in which Jim Mclean
holds.

Jim McLean was not available to answer questions on the current situation and Eddie
Thompson refused to give the media a yes or a no to wether he is taking over , he did
however say “I have nothing to say about this, and if i was involved in any discussions
it would be done in the stricest confidence. After hearing those words there is not
doubt the Thompson is closer than he has ever been to taking charge at Tannadice.

The McLean shares will not give Thompson total ontrol at the club there is no doubt
that many other current board members and past member would sell there shares to
him go give him the control he needs.
