Dundee United captain Danny Griffin Has signed a new deal with the club . Which is very good news for both Club and Supporters as Danny Griffin since joining the club 3 season ago he has alway been welcomed by the fans.
The Northern Ireland international had been widely tipped to quit Tannadice this summer with Hibernian strongly linked as a possible destination.

But United manager Ian McCall has won the battle to keep the 25-year-old captain at the club.

Griffin is has signed an appearance-based one-year deal with United also trying to costs along with other Scottish clubs.

Griffin has struggled with injury since arriving at the club from St Johnstone two years ago.

He was ruled out of action for five-and-a-half months - during which time the club had three managers - last season due to a back problem before making his first appearance for McCall as a substitute in the 1-0 home defeat by Livingston on March 15.

Griffin was originally injured at the end of September 2002 under then boss Alex Smith.

He missed the whole of Paul Hegarty's short reign before McCall joined in January.

United are still hopeful of bringing West Brom midfielder Derek McInnes to the club but the Baggies are reportedly looking to secure a replacement first.
