Ian McCall is set to be named as the new manager of Dundee United.
McCall and his coaching staff have resigned from Falkirk after the First Division leaders rejected an approach from United chairman Eddie Thompson.
McCall, who had rejected the Arabs earlier in season following the sacking of Alex Smith, is expected to be unveiled at a Tannadice press conference.
A Falkirk spokesman said: "Head coach Ian McCall, coach Gordon Chisholm and assistant coach Tony Doherty have submitted their resignations to the club with a view to joining Dundee United.
"The board have not accepted the resignations and will be meeting to discuss the best way forward for the team and the club as a whole.
"The resignations follow the board's refusal to give Dundee United chairman Eddie Thompson permission to approach the head coach."
