End of an era- Shearer to Hang boots Up!

Newcastle United veteran forward Alan Shearer has announced that he will be hanging up his footballing shorts at the close of next season.

We don't normally cover general news, but the fact that the legendary Alan Shearer has announced his retirement is enough to make us change our ways. The Newcastle United veteran released news of when he wishes to retire from football, today. The player has had a long career, and he's won the Premiership in his time, and score many-a-goal for Newcastle- but all good things must come to an end. "Yep most definitely that is it for me - just one more season after the next that is it," said Shearer. "Hopefully we will get some silverware in between now and then.” The player will be 34 years old when he retires and no doubt that he deserves to get a testimonial from his fans at the end of next season.
