York Sign Jon Newby On Loan

Brass is an admirer of the former Liverpool trainee and hopes that he can give the club a much needed lift following thier recent slide down the table.

He said: "He is somebody I was interested in at the start of the season. He knows all about this division and he's got that bit of class as well.

"It's a fresh challenge for him and I'm sure he'll be keen to do well here."

Newby will be in City's squad for Saturday's trip to Bristol Rovers.
