Third Division newcomes Yeovil scored three goals in 20 minutes either side of half time and Jake Edwards added a fourth against his former club in the 66th minute to put woeful Wrexham out of the cup at the first hurdle. Yeovil made their first breakthrough in the 39th minute when Edwards sent Lee Johnson running down the right side of the box and superbly crossed for unmarked Welshman Kevin Gall to deliever the goods for the division 3 side.
Fellow Welshman, Gavin Williams, got in front of his marker to nudge a Nick Crittenden cross into the bottom corner.
In the 59th minute Colin Pluck put the match beyond Wrexham when he jumped highest and headed the ball in under goalkeeper Andy Dibble. The fourth came when Darren Way stole clear of the Wrexham defence and passed the ball back for Edwards to slot home. Chris Armstrong gave Wrexham little consolation when he scored in the 88th minute with a nice lofted finish after the Yeovil defence gave the ball away.
