Celtic bound?

Round up of todays news including: Izzet to Celtic, Toffees no to Davis, Four leave Preston. Muzzy Izzet has issued a plea for former boss, Martin O'Neill, to sign him for Celtic.

The Turkish international looks dead set to leave Leicester in after the World Cup and seems to have his eyes set on Parkhead. Speaking to the Daily Record, Izzet said "I can't say too much as Martin hasn't been in touch but only an idiot wouldn't consider joining Celtic. The prospect of playing Champions League football appeals to me a great deal"

Izzet is also been tracked by several Premiership clubs including Middlesborough who are prepared to splash out £6 million on the attacking midfielder.

Everton have decided not to sign Wimbledon's Kelvin Davis

The goalkeeper spent a two days trial with the Merseysiders but they have rejected the chance to purchase him. Wimbledon slapped a £6 million price tag on Davis when interest from Aston Villa surfaced.

Preston have released 4 players including Steve Basham.

Basham joined Thorur Gudjonnson, Sadio Sow and Paddy Quinn in been realeased, the contract's of all 4 were up in June.

Basham was offered a new deal but rejected it and his departure was expected.Gudjonnson will return to Las Palmas after failing to impress during his loan spell at Deepdale. Sow and Quinn have failed to make any first team impact during their time with Preston. Meanwhile Preston boss, Craig Brown, has agreed contract extensions with Adam Eaton and Eric Skora.
