Harry Redknapp is still keen on snatching Fabrizio Ravenelli from cash strapped Derby County.
First Division leaders Portsmouth are still keeping an eye on Fabrizio Ravenelli , this is the second time Harry Redknapp has looked at the situation in trying to bring him to Fratton Park , they almost suceeded in the summer when everything was set and the white feather was set to join but Derby at the last minute pulled the plug on the transfer.
Derby who are massively in debt and a deal could be struck to get Ravenelli off the books , the Italian star is one of the top earners at Pride Park and if Pompey come up with the right package Derby might have no choice but to let there star player leave.
"We have no doubts about Fabrizio's ability and Harry really rates him," said Smith. "We would still like to bring him to Fratton Park.
"We had everything set up in the summer. We struck a deal with Derby and with Fabrizio over his wages, but Derby decided at the last minute that he wasn't for sale." Smith also added
"Since then he has been injured for a long time and we couldn't take a chance on taking him, but now he is fit again.
