Blues Reserves 1 Leeds United Reserves 1

Blues Reserves stay second in the league after picking up a point on a wet and windy night in Yorkshire. Neil Kilkenny got a second half goal for blues to continue the reserves recent run of good form.

Blues reserves brought a point back to St Andrews after a good 1-1 draw with Leeds United Reserves. A very young Blues side that contained no senior players travelled to Wakefield and Emley's Belle Vue ground hoping to continue the form that has seen the reserves go top of the Barclays Premiership Reserve League North.

Neil Kilkenny got the opening goal for the blues midway through the second half when he convered the rebound after Sam Alsop hit the post from six yards. But Leeds hit back almost immediately and got the equaliser within six minutes.

Kevin Smith scored for Leeds when they broke after Kilkenny had lost possession in the middle of the park. Blues were happy to take a point from the game as they were under a lot of pressure for the last ten minutes with keeper Colin Doyle being bought into action on a few occassions.

Overall the reserves will be happy with a 1-1 draw in what was described as dreadful conditions with strong wind and rain. The point keeps Blues Reserves in second place in the Premier League.
