Hartlepool United manager Neale Cooper is not impressed with striker Adam Boyd who has returned from a loan spell 9pounds heavier than when he left.

I am disappointed with Adam that he has come back to us nine pounds heavier than he went. I spoke to him after the reserve game last Wednesday and asked why he has put on all that weight. He said he had been eating more to build up his strength but when I asked him about gym work he said he had not started that yet.

I like the boys to go out on loan and show me what they can do. But when they comeback nine pounds heavier that is not on. He should have gone to Boston with the attitude of 'I will go and show him' and come back fighting fit and bursting to get back into the team. But what is this showing me? Does he really want to be here?

He has been back in training with us and is likely to be for the next two weeks at least. We will just have to see in the next couple of weeks where we go from here."
