In news that seems a bit shocking Portland Timbers Jim Taylor steps down and Coach Bobby Howe is let go. Jim Taylor will stay on as an adviser for the Portland Timbers

General Manager Jim Taylor steps down and Coach Bobby Howe is let go.
The story can be found at Timber Blog .  A change was needed as Bobby Howe's style was not working when the Timber went into the playoffs.
 Bobby leaves the Timbers with a  regular season record stands at:
68 wins 20 ties and 50 lost after 5 seasons. The Timbers made the playoffs 4 out of 5 seasons making it past the first round only once. Playoffs 3 wins 7 lost. As you see the regular season record is not bad but to be Champions of this USL First Division you must win it all in the playoffs

Jim Taylor stepping down is a bit of a surprise as he was well liked by the fans. The Timbers Army was able to grow with Jim Taylor as General Manager. The Timbers Army could be in for some surprises themselves with a new General Manager, as Jim Taylor was very open with the Timbers Army.
