Portland Claims Western Division Title!!!

Pre-match the Timbers Army celebrated with their runner up Cascadia Cup over at their hangout the Bullpen.

The match started with Puerto Rico testing Portlands keeper Bayard Elfvin who was up for the challenge making some great saves. The game started going the Timbers way as Scott Benedetti passed a perfect ball to midfeilder Edwin Miranda who slotted the shot home in the 18 minute of play for his first professional goal. Byron Alvarez netted his 15th goal of the season in the 39th minute. Then the bottom fell out on Puerto Rico as defender Chris Gorez picked up a red card as Byron Alvarez was breaking in on goal just before the half.

The second half was all Timbers as Puerto Rico was no match playing a man down. The third goal came in the 64th minute on a nice run from Hugo Alcaraz Cuellar. Here is a video from my good buddy Allision Andrews.

The Timbers fourth goal was scored by veteran Scott Benedetti in the 75th minute his first goal of the season on a nice drop pass from Hugo Alcaraz Cuellar. The final goal was scored by Fadi Afash who came into the match just minutes before. Fadi scored on a cross from Scot Thomson in the 90th minute.

At the half and after the match the Timbers Army's own Tim Burr entertained us with his Pipes
