Stockport snuffed out most things Halifax could muster. Town played too deep at times. Torrential downpour kept most fans away from the match.

Town had no bite up front against a strong and well organised 2nd Division outfit. Stockport snuffed out most things Halifax could muster. Town played too deep at times.

10 mins Davies save from full blooded Beckett shot.
13 mins Neat flick on from Dudley finds Parke who shots wide of left post.
20 mins Shot over crossbar from Stockport (No. 10).
36 mins 0-1 Cross trom right finds Ellison unmarked in the box, shot middle left, keeper Davies had no chance.
Town restricted to a couple of poor long range efforts from Mallon.
44 mins 1-1 Long cross from left headed on sweetly by Monington for Parke who cannot miss from six yards.

Half Time 1-1. Elvis came on in a white suit and sang a couple of numbers. Either his voice or the Public Address were inadequate, he receives both cheers and jeers. He ought to stick to karaoke.

55 mins 1-2 Good shot by Stockport no.10 from left, Davies saves, But the rebound falls for Wilbrahim who makes no mistake from 12 yards.
63 mins 1-3 Free kick from left found Beckett's head, who didn't even blink, straight in the onion bag from fairly deep. Keeper did you see it???

Hindley for Town on the left showing one or two good touches with both feet, certainly had good ball control. Could be a signing Chris?

Which wasn't bad considering the torrential downpour between 4 pm and 5.30pm. The groundstaff did well to get the surface water away in time for kick off.
