Joe Kinnear will be on the lookout for international stars in this years European Championships in Portugal. Maybe we'll be getting our hands on another Oyvind Leonhardsen whom Kinnear picked up a few years back and sold to Liverpool for a staggering 3.5m.
Forest manager Joe Kinnear is to be heading out to Portugal this summer to watch Euro 2004. Ireland might not have qualified, but the Dublin-born coach will still be an onlooker at the tournament and will be out there scouting stars from the smaller-prestige nations.
"You never know what you might see and I always use these competitions as a bit of a pointer.
He said: "It is possible to get players from countries like Sweden, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Switzerland and Croatia and I will be keeping my eyes open.
"There is always a chance you will be able to find a gem among the lesser nations," he said. "A player can just do something that makes you think you might want to see him again and you can then add them to the hitlist.
"You never know what might happen if you follow them up."
Bring back a superstar Joe.
