Joe Kinnear has commented on how he believes 'Johno' will return to his prolific goalscoring ways next season. The player only made 10 starts for Kinnear's side this season but scored an impressive 7 goals. More than Taylor and King.

Nottingham Forest manager Joe Kinnear is convinced that striker David Johnson will get back to being one of the division's top goalscorers next season.

The Jamaican-born fans favourite has scored seven goals in his ten starts this season meaning he has scored an impressive 0.7 goals per game this season!

"I'm convinced he is going to be right up there with the top scorers next season and hopefully he will get 29 like he did in 2002-3."

BFJ also commented on how they made sure they had nurtured 'Johno' right back to fitness before letting him take part in first team football. The gamble has paid off.

"We wrapped DJ up in cotton wool and we have seen the benefits of that because it proved a good decision to keep him on the bench," he said. "He has been so professional about it. He was fine when I said we didn't want to rush him back. He was absolutely magnificent and he is going to get better."
