The winner of these games will get a chance to go to Cardiff and participate in a match to determine which club will gain a higher footballing status. The chance to play higher up in the footballing hierachy than they are currently doing. The opportunity of a lifetime.

In their dreams they have probably imagined scoring the winning goal in this match. Feeling the rush of joy. The unimaginable feeling of knowing that you have just made thousands of onlooking fotball supporters happy and earning a place in that team's folklore. Imagine, then, if their dreams do come true- that the Lord has answered their prayers and that they are on their way. If this was you, would you not want to celebrate with those you have just made so jubilant; And yes, refs, I'm talking to you. The very people that will book a player just for celebrating with their own fans. Not that they have done anything wrong. Not that they are provoking anything. Just that you are stubborn and you feel the need to inconsistantly apply an already illogical rule.

Sometimes I wonder just exactly what you have to do to qualify as a Football League ref- In fact, I think I must've asked myself that very question after every Nottingham Forest game this season. The quality of officiating in the modern game can only be described as somewhat "appalling."

It is also rather stupid that people involved (proffessionally) with football are not allowed to comment on the ref's performances after the match and if they come out with something as small as "The Ref was appalling," they can be fined a few thousand pounds. Why can't managers and players express their opinions. At the end of the day the "Men in black" are just going to carry on thinking they can do as they please.

As well as thinking they can do as they please, a few of them strut around like they own the world, feeling that they have to make contreversial decisions in order to get themselves noticed. When will these sad few realise we are here to see that players and not them. They are just their to try and make the football on show flowing and fair. Why can't they follow their mission briefings?

The Football League need to do something about this and fast. The standard of refereeing should not be able to get any lower but if we keep appointing the idiots we are then it is going to get worse.
