Weather beats Sunday's fixtures

Strong winds and heavy overnight rain leads to the postponement of Sunday's Welsh Premier League games at Richmond Park and Plas Kynaston Lane.

STRONG winds and heavy overnight rain has beaten Sunday's two Welsh Premier League games.

The two games would have seen a top of the table clash at Richmond Park, where Carmarthen Town were due to host Total Network Solutions, and a relegation survival scrap at Plas Kynaston Lane, where NEWI Cefn Druids were set to take on Port Talbot Town.

Druids Chairman, Brian Mackie, said: "Today's scheduled game between NEWI Cefn Druids and Port Talbot has been posponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

"Heavy overnight rain and snow has resulted in standing water over 80 percent of the pitch which we have been unable to shift.

Although Port Talbot had set off, we have been able to stop them travelling too far."

As yet no re-arranged date for the fixtures have been announced.
