In his latest 'moiderings', Bangor City fan 'Livzy' praises the return of Marc Lloyd Williams to the boys in blue. Jiws-er! Jiws-er! Jiws-er!

So, another home “debut” for our favourite son. Five home debuts. Five away debuts. Before the Caersws away trip, 148 LoW goals. OK – some may not be that impressed that he’s back (again) but I make no secret of the fact that I am a huge Jiws fan. He’s a Bangor lad, no doubt about it. LoW goal scoring record holder. Europe’s top scorer 2001/2002. Battered yer Van Nistlerooys, Henry’s and Owen out of sight. And he plays for us! In my opinion Jiws was the main reason we aren’t playing against Cemaes, Llangefni and Holyhead Hotspurs. He scored 26 goals in half a season 2000/2001 and we finished 14th. Remember that we were bottom by a far old distance in the November and looked unlikely to survive. People may say that Jiws can only score against “lesser” teams. There may be some mileage in that but anyone who can score 13 against Druids over three matches and a double hat-trick against anyone (Rhayader in the league and Cardiff Civil Service in the Cup) deserves all the praise they get. Some may say that Jiws is “selfish” and not a “team player” – OK – there are times when we are all screaming at him to pass but you don’t get 66 goals in nine months by being a playmaker. We’ve got lads to do that, Robbo, Shaker, Kenny B, Ricky Evans, Lofty to name just a few.

I WANT Jiws to be hogging the ball and shooting on sight from 6 inches, 6 yards or the half way line. I WANT him to be hungry for goals and going for a hat-trick in every match. I WANT him to get shouted at by the manager and the other players for being greedy coz, I tell you what, that only makes him want to score even more to prove them wrong. I WANT him to be cross if he “gets a drop”, I WANT him to be nothing other than he is – a selfish, goal hungry striker. And I’m telling you now, come the end of April he will be the League’s top scorer. We’ve seen amazingly talented strikers at City before, Jimmy Conde, Mark “Spike” Carter, Carl Dale and “Magic” Mottram fit that bill but we ain’t never seen anyone quite like Jiws and neither has the League.

There’s an old saying that goes “Never go back” – I’d add “unless you’re Marc Lloyd-Williams” to that.
