Druids Capture Trinidad and Tobago International Johnson

Elements Cefn Druids have confirmed the signing of Trinidadian winger Josh Johnson, following a successful trial period with the club,

Having spent last season with Welsh Premier champions Rhyl, he was released after failing to cement a regular first team place at Belle Vue.

Despite this, he still earned a call up to the Trinidad and Tobago squad, and if he can find some form at Plaskynaston Lane it will be interesting to see if the 28 year old receives further internationanal recognition.

Following his release from Rhyl, Johnson was given a trial at League 2 side Macclesfield Town, but was not offered a contract by Silkmen manager Keith Alexander.

The signing follows news that fellow winger, Kevin Holsgrove, has left to join Colwyn Bay, after impressing for the Wrexham outfit last season.

Despite receiving planning permission for the new stadium, some local 'protestors' have decided to apply for village green status on the site of our new stadium.

The fact the site was actually just a football pitch anyway doesn't seem to register with them.

Hopefully it will be sorted soon and we can get started.

Hope you sort it out anyway. Similar problems down here. Why is it that a few morons kicking up a stink can somehow be more important than the future of the oldest club in Wales. Also I suspect the protestors are not natives to the area and moved to Wales in semi-retirement having made their money elsewhere. How come it is always these people who gang together to prevent progress.
They come to Wales for the timewarp but forget the locals want progress in any shape way or form often following many years of underfunding from council and government.
Perhaps thise blocking change can form an Amish community near Wrexham somewhere, Such people certainly dont have a place in a modern thinking 21st century community.

Cheers, interestingly enough the head protestor has a perfectly good location next to our house that she could apply for 'village green' status for.

It's not as if Cefn Mawr is downtown New York and green spaces are at a premium!

Hard to believe that a venue at a disused quarry that has been used as a football pitch for as long as I know could be kicked up such a fuss about by so few, especially considering we would provide the village and community with a stadium and social club facilities that we could proud of.

i know all to well about village greens via stradey/ pys fiasco and as long as you have proof to discredit their claims only thing that will be lost is time! these people like to moan and make a name for themselves!
