Sharp Hattrick condems Aber

Bangor City are through to the Loosemores League Cup Final winning 4-2 on the night and therefore 5-4 on aggregate where they will face The New Saints in the final.

A Chris Sharp hattrick condemed Aber's prolong Loosemores Semi final cup misery. He scored on 15 minutes when 2 Aber defenders missed a header from dealing with a set piece leaving Sharp to beat Dave Roberts. At 1-0 at half time the advantage was still Abers but a 2nd half nightmare from Aber allowed Michael Walsh and Chris Sharp to make it 3-0 within 10 minutes of the restart.

When game was all but over Aber finally took their chances firstly through Christian Edwards and then the lively Geoff Kellaway but was too little to late when Sharp got his hattrick for the visitors in stoppage time and to seal the win.

While Bangor deservedly progress to the final having made the most of their chances Aberystwyth must be kicking their heels in exactly why for the 2nd season running they havent finished the job having already got a result in the 1st leg.

To go away and put 4 goals in the back of the net is difficult anywhere, but at a club who were undefeated at home even more sweet.
May be a Micky Mouse Cup but at least we are in a final.

Higher than 4th in the leauge still a good bet too.

Mr Blue - we've reached the final and been beat five times so I for one and delighted to be there again - I;d love to win it !!!!

There are only three cups to play for - league champions, Welsh Cup and League Cup.

no chance for us this season of the league, we have Rhly next round in the welsh cup so a tough game there so lets win this one!

I am aware of our record in the final, and agree it would be nice to win, but if it came to playing the ressies again owing to an important WP match a few days later, I'd go for that. Just 'cos we ain't won it does not make it less of a Micky mouse cup.

Like I said we got to the final.

I am with Nev, we still got a chance mathematically then we are in contention for the league.

wot respect mate you aint seen us play!

We are certianly the best of the rest and can defintiely take Oswestry, llanelli and Rhyl in a one off game but we arent quite there i nterms of challgeing over a whole season for top spot.

We *could* nick second with a huge slice of luck and should be contesting third but champions? not this year I dont think.

Many Rhyl fans didn't want him to leave, and he played some great games like v Port Talbot in April. He didn't play consistently well tho. Once he develops consistency, he will be one of the best strikers in the league. He gave everything at Rhyl and no Rhyl fans would begrudge him success

Twenty goals so far this season something like double the top scorer for Rhyl I think. Consistent enough for most.

The goals tend to come in spurts..with anonymous games in between. I'm sure he'll develop rapidly though and, as I said, we were sorry to see him go but understand that a player of his potential would not be happy at being 4th choice striker. Wish him well and if he proves Rhyl management wrong, then so be it.

Yeah surewth your top scorer on 10 it must have been hell for him to leave hahahahaha

13 goals in 7 games ... spurting in at 2 a game, a mere dribble I'd say. Proved you lot wrong an age ago, and face it you creamed your pants over this guy and were one of the most gutted to see him go. Like the wind you change.

Nice to see the inconsistant Chris Sharp scored again on Saturday! 14 in 9 games, over 2 a game, terrible stats I say.

2nd highest in all comps.

Well done to Jiws for being 2nd best in the league, if he can do this with Port what could he do with a good team.

14 in 9 = 2 goals per game?(Sm105)

Maths never was my strong point, short division was the nemesis.
