We all know Billy Nick is the greatest, most successful and most influential manager in the history of the mighty Tottenham Hotspur, but who comes in runner up? The contenders as I see it: Arthur Rowe and Keith Burkinshaw Rowe with his push and run brand of football taking us from the 2nd division up as champions in his first season in charge first season sweeping aside all in our path, then repeating the feat in his first season as manager of a top flight club. The relationship between club and manager was soured by our two of our own directors constant barrage of insults against this new system, Hornsby and Herryet championing the long ball, and following a second place finish in the league in his third season in charge his health deteriorated and soon he left the club, not before instilling the belief the passing football was the future to both Sir Alf Ramsey and ‘Sir’ Bill Nicholson.

Burkinshaw won us promotion in his first season, then after a couple of years in midtable 2 FA Cups in consecutive seasons and the UEFA Cup, with two consecutive 4th place positions the his best achievement in the league. His relationship with the club was also soured by another two of the clubs directors Scholar and Bobroff disillusioning Burky with their vision of money oriented football we see today.
