This news will come as a big shock to many of the Spurs faithful.

Steffen has achieved cult status ever since his move from Borussia Dortmund in 1999. Tottenham fans across the world came to adore the player who always gave 110% in every match he played.
No one can deny the way he expressed his passion on the field helped motivate the team and often brought results.
If his skill and technique matched his enthusiasm then im almost sure he would now be regarded as one of the worlds greats.
My own personal highlight was watching him against Leicester in the Worthington Cup final.
That performance will be a etched onto the minds of many.

Im sure many people will be opposed to his departure but perhaps his time had truly come. Sometimes it helps a player to leave a club with his head held high. I'm sure this will be the case when Steffen leaves the gates of N17. In the meantime lets hope he puts one in the back of the net. If he does then I’m sure the cheer will carry across to Highbury.
