The Welsh international is a self confessed Swans fan and started his career at the Vetch almost a decade ago.  He moved on to Nottingham Forrest in 1998 for £275,000 but played just 56 times in his time at the City Ground.

After playing for Rovers in the 0-0 draw in November Edwards said "It was special for me coming back for the first time in five years.  I got a good reception at the end which was nice because this is my club."

While Edwards has vast experience from all his years in the game, Manchester-born, Earl Davis has little professional experience to look back upon.

The 20-year-old has previously had spells with Southport and Stalybridge before spending last season at First Division Burnley.  He was released at the end of the season having failed to force his way into the first team.

"I have made an enquiry about Christian Edwards," said Flynn.

"I spoke with Ray Graydon (Bristol Rovers manager) and he has indicated that he doesn't want to lose him at this stage, but that does not necessarily mean the end of that."

"Earl is an untried youngster who could be one for the future.  He is very strong and quick and we are going to have a look at him."
