The seals qualified for the FA Cup 1st round proper after beating Radcliffe Borough 4-2 yesterday. All 6 goals came in the final 30 minutes of the fixture with City top goal scorer Ryan Sugden netting his first hat-trick for the club.

Chester City - W.Brown, Guyett, Hatswell, Bolland, McIntyre, Brady, Carden, Blackburn, Davies, Tate, Sugden.

Chester returned to winning ways yesterday with a 4-2 victory in the F.A Cup 4th round qualifier against Radcliffe Borough. Chris Tate was in the starting line up for the first time since his loan spell last season.

Chester shooting left to right (uphill) in the first half carved out an early chance for Scott Guyett with the centre back heading over when he should of scored. Ryan Sugden squeezed though the Borough defence but couldn’t lift his shot over the goal keeper.

Radcliffe could and maybe should of gone in ahead when the number 9 had an unchallenged attempt parried by Wayne Brown for 8 yards out.

With the hour mark approaching it looked like an odd goal would win it for either side. Mark Wright made two changes with Micky Brown and Dave Cameron replacing Chris Tate and Jon Brady.

The changes seemed to pay off with Ryan Sugden meeting a Kevin McIntyre cross seconds later. Sugden’s 11th goal of the season was a looping header over the helpless Unibond keeper.

Ryan Sugden met another cross from the right 8 minutes later (68) to head Chester two up. A Chris Blackburn over hit through ball was crossed in by Sugden to substitute Dave Cameron who headed Chester 3-1 up .A well placed free kick by Banim brought Radcliffe back into the game two minutes later.

The game was sealed on 75 minutes when Dave Cameron crossed to Ryan Sugden who controlled well before rifling home from 12 yards to record his first hat trick for Chester City.

There was still time for Radcliffe to get a cancellation goal in the 90th minute with a Hardy strike.

Chester will face Colchester United in the first round proper at Layer road.
