Ole's men face Sevilla for spot in European finale

Sevilla celebrate QF win

Manchester United will play Sevilla in the Europa League semi-finals, after the Spanish outfit dumped Wolverhampton Wanderers out of the competition on Tuesday evening.

Wolves were hoping to secure an all-English semi-final against the Red Devils, but suffered late defeat at the hands of Sevilla.

Lucas Ocampos bagged the only goal of the game for Sevilla, who won Group A in the tournament earlier in the campaign.

Reported United target Raul Jimenez had missed a first-half penalty for Nuno Espirito Santo's Premier League charges.

Wolves' loss rules out silverware and a Champions League berth next season, despite a positive campaign. They were pipped to sixth spot by Spurs on the final day of the league season, so miss out on continental competition altogether next season.

Sunday's single-leg Europa League semi-final will be the third time United have faced Sevilla - with the Red Devils still searching for their first win against Los Nervionenses. United shared a goalless draw and a 2-1 defeat with the club in 2017/18 Champions League action.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's United reached the semi-finals with a 1-0 win over Copenhagen on Monday evening, in a game they controlled for long periods.

AZ Alkmaar, Partizan Belgrade, Astana, Club Brugge and Linzer Athletik-Sport-Klub have all also been beaten by Solskjaer's side in the competition so far this season.
