BLUES LEGEND PAUL BRACEWELL THINKS AN EVERTON WIN ON SUNDAY IS VITAL FOR THE RUN-IN....

Everton legend Paul Bracewell has urged the Blues to refind top form at the weekend and achieve the highest possible finish this season. 

Bracewell - who was part of the Blues' trophy-laden era in the mid-1980s - says that Sunday's Premier League clash against Hull City is a perfect chance to bounce back following recent disappointing results. 

The Wirral-born midfielder: "I was here for the Sunderland game, which I thought Everton won comfortably. I was here for the first leg of the Sporting Lisbon clash - it was disappointing about the second game in Portugal and obviously the defeat at Tottenham. 

"But the Hull game is an ideal opportunity for the players to dust themselves down and bounce back and with one or two coming back from injury, finish the season on a high." 

Bracewell feels that a lack of options caused by a lengthy injury list hindered the Club's progress earlier this term. But the side is now re-invigourated as their ranks have been bolstered by the return of players like Mikel Arteta and Phil Jagielka.  

"I think that the frustration during the season is that David has not had a full squad to pick from,” he continued. “And even then, about three weeks ago he gets most of the injured players back and then one or two pick up knocks - but that's the nature of the beast. 

"I'm sure he will be saying, 'Let's finish up the table as high as possible'." 

Bracewell made 142 appearances over five seasons at the Club and said that the fans’ belief of winning trophies is something the players have to take in their stride. 

"I know from when I came here," Bracewell continued, "there was expectation and that goes back to the Ball, Kendall and Harvey era and that's something the lads have got to live with. 

"But if you want to be successful, then you've got to go out and win every game. That's the beauty of this Club - it's been successful and it's wants more as well."
