David Moyes has expressed his delight after Saturdays fantastic win over Man Utd at goodsion park...

David Moyes was delighted after Everton produced one of the performances of the season to come from behind against Manchester United at Goodison Park.

The Scot described his side as "brilliant" after they recorded their first league victory over the title-chasing Red Devils since 2005.

The Blues fell behind when Dimitar Berbatov turned in on 15 minutes but hit back just three minutes later courtesy of a stunning strike from Russian midfielder Diniyar Bilyaletdinov.

But it was two second-half substitutes who made the difference for Moyes, Dan Gosling steering Everton in front before Jack Rodwell raced through to beat Edwin van der Sar in his first meaningful involvement.

"It was a brilliant performance by the players because it's never easy to beat Manchester United," said Moyes. "We keep getting reminded how many times we have not beaten the top four, but Chelsea recently and now Manchester United have been here and we have beaten them both.

"I thought we didn't start well, I thought Manchester United were better in the opening period, but I think we grew into the game.

"We started to get a bit of control in midfield and started to pass it around better and I thought in the second half we had one or two opportunities. And when we got them in the second half, we took them."

Moyes reserved special praise for Gosling and Rodwell, adding: "People know they have come on in other big games and made a difference. They are both talented with great potential to go on with age and experience, a bit like Wayne Rooney at times. We are trying to put them on the right path and they both came on and made an impact today."

Everton have now suffered only one defeat in their last 12 Premier League outings and Moyes reiterated how important it is to keep on the coat-tails of those sides currently higher in the table.

"We can start to look up rather than down now, because we have been looking down for a long time," he said. "I think our form over the last month or so has been very good so I am going to ask the players to do more of the same. We have won today without Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini and it's difficult when you lose some of your best players but we have shown the spirit we have got among the players here.

"We have never given up (on Europe) but we have always said it's a long shot. The way we started the season was poor and it was always going to be difficult but we will keep bundling along and see where we end up."
