Everton boss David Moyes has revealed he is on the verge of bringing in a new centre half, but that action does not mean that Joleon Lescott is on his way out of the club.
Everton have been linked with several names over the past few weeks but nothing has moved so far in the transfer market and the club are without Phil Jagielka until November.
At his pre-match press conference for tonight’s Europa League match Moyes said: “I will have another centre half soon – at least one – and Joleon will have a decision to make. Until his attitude changes, he won’t be included.
“It is not inevitable that he is leaving now. All I have done is make a decision for this game that may or may not be the right decision.
Speaking about the Arsenal defeat, he added: “I felt on Saturday that everything what we have tried to build at Everton over the last few years was damaged.
“Maybe I need to get back to the man who whipped the players a little bit more. It was a poor attitude all round that damaged us.”
