David Moyes has played down Joleon Lescott's absence against Coventry, stating that the defender was injured.
The England international was not included in the squad that drew 2-2 with Coventry on Sunday.
And with Manchester City putting in two large bids for the player, there was speculation that Lescott was about to move, but Moyes put the player’s absence down to a hip injury.
"Joleon picked up a hip injury is America so we probably don't expect him to be fit until the end of the week," explained Moyes.
"He didn't travel with us, why would I bring an injured player?"
