Citeh test Everton resolve with bid for Lescott

Joleon Lescott

Despite being told that defender Joleon Lescott is not for sale, Manchester City have decided to test Everton with a bid of around £15 million for the player.

Not only will that test Everton’s resolve, but it could also trigger the player into handing in a transfer request as a big money move may tempt Manchester based Lescott, the money would also come in handy for Moyes to get hold of Standard Liege captain Steven Defour.

City manager Mark Hughes has fallen short of the £20 million that the Blues wanted for the player in the summer, but a better offer may come in as Hughes looks to partner Lescott with John Terry in the Manchester City defence.

And should City manage to get hold of Lescott, then that would alert Sunderland who are interested in getting their hands on £5 million rated Richard Dunne.
