Burnley 0 Southampton 1

Danny Ings returned to Turf Moor and plundered the points as the Clarets were left waiting to open their Premier League account.

Ings’ early strike against his former club was enough to give Southampton their first win of the season and a first victory in eight attempts against Burnley.

The England international’s third goal of the season came from the Saints’ only attempt on target as the Clarets went on to dominate – particularly in an impressive second-half effort.

But one goal proved enough for the Southampton as the Clarets’ shortage of attacking options in their heavily depleted squad proved telling as they were unable to find the equaliser their performance deserved.

The Clarets gave an immediate debut – and his 100th Premier League appearance – to new signing Dale Stephens in the centre of midfield as Josh Brownhill moved out to the right-hand side in the absence of Robbie Brady.

Josh Brownhill moved out to where he would be no danger to the opposition ..........

Apparently Ashley Westwood has a new contract - good news. Thought the Woods goal saga was outrageous by the officials

Things need to get sorted on & off the field before much longer.

This Dyche & Garlick feud might start effecting the players...if it isn't already.
