Sean Dyche is backing his players to keep delivering as he looks to strengthen their number for the campaign ahead.
The Clarets kick off their season against Sheffield United in the Carabao Cup at Turf Moor on Thursday evening with no new outfield additions to the squad so far. Dyche is keen to boost his options with injuries and summer departures stretching resources. And with the visit of the Blades followed by a Premier League opener at Leicester City on Sunday night, it’s very much a case of quality not quantity in a squad that finished 10th in the top-flight last season.
“I think we’ve got a very good group here,” said the Burnley boss. “Although it’s low in numbers, we’ve still got some very good players here. “We’ve still got Corky to get fit, Barnsey to get truly match fit and we’ve still got Ben Mee to get match-fit.
