Burnley Football Club have officially announced that all 6,100 tickets they had been allocated for the Carling Cup game at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday 12th November have been sold. In the eventuality that some of these tickets may be returned they are taking names on a reserve list.
This is fantastic news for all concerned, the early indication from some quarters was that we would not sell out, but this game has created so much interest amongst the Clarets faithful, that when the tickets went on General sale at 9-00 am on Monday around 2,800 had already been sold to season ticket holders and Foundation members, leaving just 3,300 for the rest of us all of which had been snapped up by 5-00pm Thursday. Party time in the capital looms for the travelling Clarets, all we need now to cap it off would be a Burnley win. Highly unlikely I know, but not impossible, remember Barnsley last season.
