A bore draw in a game that could get football stopped has left the reds needing a miracle to stay up.

The reds were poor and had no cutting edge yet again. One positive if you take the Stoke game out of the equation is that the defence has looked pretty solid since the restart and this was a big problem for us early in the season.

I watched on ifollow where Bobby Hassell was convinced we were playing 4 at the back and a midfield diamond. To be it definitely looked like 3 at the back with wing backs but it is often hard to tell how we are set up at times.

The manager wasted Callum Styles in a left wing back role yet he was still our most dangerous player. Imagine what he could do in his proper position.

At the risk of repeating myself I am still wondering how Ritzmaier gets a game and just what Odour has done wrong not to get a game.

There has been much discussion regarding the position Woodrow plays. For me in this one the manager actually started him up front with Brown with Simoes in the number ten role.

Many I have spoken to think Woodrow and Simoes were the other way round. I think this is just because of how deep Woodrow decides to drop when he is up front and that Simoes actually went and pressed at times when Woodrow was just stood there. I won’t defend the manager much as I don’t think he gets much right in terms of tactics and selection but Woodrow dropping so deep could be why he has played him in the number 10 role in so many games.

Since the restart the problem hasn’t been whether he’s been playing up front or in the number 10 role, the problem has been his form and confidence is completely shot. The same could be said about Jacob Brown.

I don’t think Chaplin has been great since we came back but he has certainly looked more dangerous than Woodrow and Brown so can consider himself unfortunate to be the one that is dropped out of the three of them.

I felt Mowatt had a poor game by his usual standards which is probably why we were so poor and the game in general was so poor.

I don’t usually focus on opposition players but I’d like to mention a couple of the ex-reds playing for Wigan as I thought Morsy and Williams were excellent for them and in a way you’ve got to feel a bit sorry for Moore with the lack of support he gets and the hopeful balls he gets lumped up to him.

I can see us getting a good hiding from Leeds on Thursday night with the way they are playing and with Forest and Brentford to follow I reckon our current points total is our final points total.

The hope has finally gone but my support hasn’t. I have renewed for next season as always and am already hoping for a promotion push.
