Sheffield United will use Saltergate - Chesterfield's home ground for their reserve games next season to prevent wear and tear at Bramall Lane. Head grounds man Glenn Nortcliffe told the clubs website "The reserve games had an adverse affect on the pitch."

"The development of Kop corner and enterprise center restrict air movement and cause problems with the pitch's recovery and growth." He Added.

United also played reserve games at saltergate in mid 1990's.
