Redfearn Looks Elsewhere

After waiting patiently for his appointment of Town boss to be approved, Neil Redfearn has decided enough is enough and has admitted defeat in becoming the next Halifax Town manager.

This is another blow for the Halifax Town fans for which 76% of readers on Shaymen.org had voted him as the man they wanted as the next boss at the Shay.

You cannot blame Redders for losing patience with O'Hara who has made the decision not allow the appointment of a manager until a possible buyer for the club is found.

He told the Halifax Evening Courier:

"I would have loved to have done the job," said Redfearn. "But the whole business has dragged on too long.

"I can't wait forever and it has reached the situation where I have to start looking for something else.

"I had been led to believe that an appointment was imminent."

Redfearn had won most fans over after his two spells as caretaker manager. His first spell came after Paul Bracewell left the club in which he and Tony Parks won 2 games, drew 3 and lost 3 in a 8 game spell.

The job was Neil Redfearn's, but he wanted a three year contract and in the end up Alan Little got the job.

Redfearn then got another chance to prove his managerial credentials when Little fell ill with appendicitis. In an 11 game spell the team won 3 games, drew 1 and lost. Many people felt that given a longer chance as manager he might just have saved us from the drop.

Things had already gone from bad to worse. We are now going from worse to worser (if there is such a word) and it really is turning into a nightmare for the Town faithful.
