Town Chief Quits!!!

Halifax Town fans will be shocked by the news that Bob Walker has resigned as Chairman.

He has claimed that he cannot accept the way in which Peter O'Hara and his team are addressing the clubs situation in administration. He also finds the treatment of Neil Redfearn appalling.

This will come as a shock to most Town fans, and is bad news for the club.

Although Halifax Town are currently in a mess, the majority of Town fans hold a lot of respect for Walker who has put a lot of effort into the club.

Bob Walker first joined the club when Jim Brown was Chairman, and took the reigns when Brown left after a vote of no-confidence from the other board members.

Walker, whose company was sold for a figure of between 2-4 million pounds, went full time at the Shay to try and turn around the fortunes of the club. But he always seemed to be fighting the battle alone with no help from the other board members.

Obviously the O'Hara situation has become unbearable for Walker and has decided now was the right time to walk away.

On the odd occasions I have met Bob Walker, he has always been honest and polite, and always shown his respect to the Town fans. He has always done his best for the club and for this he deserves our respect.

What now for the club?

The worrying thing is that this might just pave the way for a certain duo to take control of the club. Major shareholder David Greenwood and pal Jim Brown might just use this opportunity to come back to the Shay.

Lets worry about that if it happens.
