After Saturday’s tunnel spat both Craig Brown and John Boyle will appear before the SFA Disciplinary Committee

The SFA have released a statement today which says, “The Scottish FA can confirm that following an incident at the end of the Scottish Premier League match between Motherwell and Aberdeen on Saturday 2 April, Mr. John Boyle (chairman, Motherwell FC) and Mr. Craig Brown (manager, Aberdeen FC) will be referred to the Disciplinary Committee under the Scottish FA's Articles of the Association, in particular Article 82.3, which states:

82. The Board shall have power to appoint a committee (“the Disciplinary Committee”) which shall:-

(3) be entitled to deal with acts of misconduct of any official of a club, club or recognised football body occurring before, during or after such matches, as aforesaid, and to take such action, including the imposition of any penalty as it considers may be merited against such official, club or recognised football body irrespective of whether or not a penalty has been imposed as a result of action by the match official”

I am not sure either of them can complain after the furore that surrounded the Neil Lennon/Ally McCoist fracas after the Old Firm Cup game. McCoist was handed a two match touch line ban, it will therefore pretty certain Brown will get the same punishment.

What of Boyle? I am sure he will be warned about his future behaviour and banned from the tunnel area in coming matches.

In the end this was a bit of a funny situation at the time, but when you take a step back it was a bit embarrassing for Scottish football and for Motherwell.
