Well boss Stuart McCall failed to bring in a striker even after five attempts in the last two days.

In the 48 hours after the League Cup semi final the manager was constantly on the phone but found himself frustrated by a number of different circumstances.

Target 1 - had a bit of a family crisis and has to stay down south until the summer

Target 2 – we couldn’t match his offer from an English club

Target 3 - his club couldn't get a couple of strikers in which they thought they were absolutely certain to get.

Target 4 – got a better offer from America

Target 5 - The fifth one was 50-50. In fairness to him, because we came in so late, he had already given his word to an English club last week.

"He was still keen and up to quarter to eight we were still hopeful of getting him. It was really, really frustrating.”

The positive side of the transfer window is that no one else went out and we have the same squad we started the season with…..hopefully it will e good enough to get us back up the table again, after dropping to 8^th tonight.
